Responsible consumption and production
We ensure sustainable and circular consumption and production patterns.
By removing the burden on saving surplus process equipment, we reduce the material footprint for our customers in high-income countries. Our used process equipment solution also reduces their environmental footprint. At Foeth, we actively engage with our customers to encourage genuine action with respect to redundancy policies on process machinery and related assets, thereby stimulating company sustainability reporting on redundant assets.
Foeth is also a member of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). We accelerate the development of the Circular Economy* by promoting WBSCD policies among all of our customers (see CEO Guide to the Circular Economy). Finally, Foeth also works with other WBSCD members such as AkzoNobel, Unilever, and Novartis on taking clear and concrete action with respect to the circularity of process equipment and related assets.
Circular Economy: a concept by which an economic system aims to eliminate waste and promote the continual use of resources. This is in contrast to the traditional linear economy with its ‘take, make, dispose’ production model. The ambition of the Netherlands: 50% circular by 2030, 100% by 2050.
