Used as new since 1908: Reuse to Reduce

Foeth is Powder Processing Solutions Company of the Month!

In the November 2023 issue of Industrial Process News, Foeth has been selected as Powder Processing Solutions Company of the Month. The original article can be found here. From Industrial Process News:

Award-winning Foeth is one of the largest dealers of high-end used process equipment in the world.

The company has an illustrious history dating back to 1908, when it was founded by Arie Foeth in Zaandam, in the vicinity of Amsterdam. Working essentially as a scrap dealer, he scrapped inland vessels and machines but later realised, there was more value in trading the machines. Three-generations of the Foeth family continued running the company, expanding the process machinery trading further in the chemical, food and pharmaceutical sector. In 2017, the company was acquired by current owners focussing on further expansion into Europe and provides it’s customers with a complete regeneration solution; by removing, dismantling or relocating process equipment or a complete process plant.

We spoke to Stefan Modderman: Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) to find out more about this Dutch Powerhouse, “We celebrated our 100th birthday in 2008 and this year have reached our 115th anniversary milestone. We have come a long way from Arie Foeth’s brief foray into the scrap metal market: we are now global-dealers in the purchase and sale of used process equipment from top quality brands, and are contributing to a more sustainable industry by offering a complete regeneration solution for our customers.”

“Under the guidance of our CEO: Erik Saat, we are committed to providing premium refurbished process machinery to our global customers in the pharma, specialty chemical and food & feed ingredient sectors. We have grown exponentially and now have sales offices across Europe: Germany, Poland, Spain, UK, Serbia and France. These are affectionately known as our ‘Boots on the ground’ – expert sales officers, proficient in the mother tongue of the country and offering comprehensive, technical consultancy on our machinery.”

“We acquire top-quality process machinery, primarily from the pharmaceutical and food and feed ingredients industry, which are meticulously cared for over their life span. We often buy whole plants from companies relocating or restructuring, including tanks, process equipment and filling and packaging lines. Our Unique Selling Point (USP) is that we thoroughly test and refurbish our equipment before re-sale, so our customers are always assured of certainty of direct redeployment.”

“Every machine sold saves 4, 43 ton CO2 equivalent emissions, in comparison to new machines, drastically reducing carbon footprint and supports the circular economy by reusing quality machinery.”

Foeth is based in Barneveld, in the centre of the Netherlands. It is only an hour from Schiphol Airport, one of the world’s biggest international airports, making it the perfect location for the large 30,000sq. m corporate office and stock-holding warehouses. The range of 2,800 used process equipment is extensive and includes the following popular products:

The machinery is available to buy online through the company website and via appointed European sales officers.

Foeth is a trusted dealer across the globe, with 30% of its sales outside of Europe, primarily in Asia. With such a long history in the industry, spanning back 115 years, the Dutch company is considered gold-standard among customers. For the last three consecutive years, Foeth has been awarded the coveted Financieel Dagblad (FD Gazelle Award) for its impressive speed in market growth. Furthermore, the judging panel also selected Foeth alongside a smaller group for displaying exemplary fast growth on an international scale.

The Dutch heavyweight has also been awarded ‘Climate Actor’ by the decarbonisation platform: Greencast for its steadfast commitment to carbon emission reductions. By buying and then re-selling process equipment, the company has prevented machinery going to landfill, saving tonnes of carbon emissions and contributing to the circular economy.

“We are aiming to be carbon-neutral across our direct operations by 2025. We have already invested in 252 solar roof panels to power our warehouse and office facilities and provide hybrid and electric vehicles for our team. Each pre-owned machine sold saves 4, 43 tons of harmful carbon emissions, we are whole-heartedly committed to environmental sustainability,” concluded Stefan.
