Foeth spray dryer now producing Sprucegum!

Montinutra Ltd from Turku, Finland, purchased an APV Anhydro Lab S1 - Spray dryer from Foeth. The company is active in the production of Sprucegum™ extract from sawdust, a rest product resulting from the Finnish forestry industry.

According to Montinutra CEO Jukka Mäkelä:

“Montinutra is a prime example of circular economy scale-up company, our raw material is forest industry side stream saw dust, that we are valorizing. And we are also happy to rely on second hand equipment when it makes sense.”

The spray dryer was delivered out of the large premium quality assortment of 2800+ process machines at Foeth in Barneveld, The Netherlands. One of the reasons Montinutra has chosen for Foeth is the short delivery time of the spray dryer. Being pre-made, the company didn't have to wait for the long production time of a brand new machine. The machine was fully refurbished before delivery to Montinutra and therefore could be taken into operation immediately, performing as if it was new. By purchasing this machine from Foeth, Montinutra also saved approximately 2,4 tons of CO₂equivalent emissions by avoiding emissions resulting from the manufacturing process of a new machine.
