Green goals at Powtech 2022

At the international trade fair it became evident that the market for pre-owned machines is rising

Last September, powder and bulk material professionals could finally meet live again at Powtech after a three-year corona gap. Sustainability took centre stage at the fair in Nuremberg. For instance, new energy-saving and more efficient machines and processes were being highlighted. Also, visitors were presented with new ways to work more efficiently and to easily meet the demands of stricter safety and hygiene legislation.

Powtech’s central theme of sustainability fits Foeth like a glove. Sustainability is in our DNA. Purchasing one of our pre-owned machines avoids the emissions from the production a new machine. On average, buying one of our pre-owned machines (instead of a new one) saves 3.2 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2). Increasingly, manufacturers are opting for circularity, as the production of new machines is getting more and more expensive. Plus: it takes longer for machines to be delivered.

Foeth was represented at Powtech by Henk Bakker (technical sales agent), Regina Zarmer (managing director Germany), Rob Sand (global manager equipment acquisition) and Jens Boshold (sales agent Germany). “Online, we deal with hundreds of questions, but here it is easier to talk to customers in detail about the machines they’ll need”, Henk tellsSolid Processing. And at Powtech, there are also many potential suppliers: companies that might be thinking of sending their equipment to the scrapyard, whereas the machines are still in good enough condition to start a second life at another organisation, via Foeth. “By being here, companies are reminded of this more sustainable option and the possibility to sell their redundant equipment to us”, says Henk.
