The mixing vessel: An important part of the process
A stirring vessel, stirred tank, mixing vessel or blending vessel is one of the most important parts on process engineering systems, not only in the chemical industry. They are suitable for gassing, emulsifying, homogenising, suspending or heat transfer of various liquids and therefor also in various industries.
The vessels are available in both closed and open designs. The motor-driven agitator of the vessel mixes the supplied substances or reactants for the desired biological or chemical reaction. The reaction can be additionally influenced or even initiated by cooling or by supplying thermal energy through the tank jacket. Such a tank is called a jacketed mixing vessel. It is also easy to dissipate the reaction of heat (see our heated mixing vessels in stock). Most of these vessels are used with liquid substances of different consistencies. They are usually operated in batches with discontinuous models, in which only the reactants required for a certain quantity are fed at a time.
