Reconditioned

Reconditioned machines: Fully tested and quality assured by Foeth!

In our 4.000 m² workshop we clean, mechanically test and, if needed, completely recondition process machinery. The degree to which a machine is reconditioned can vary widely depending on the state of the machine. All these activities are performed on process equipment for a broad range of industries, like the food, chemical, and pharmaceutical industry. So no matter what your process looks like, we probably have a reconditioned machine for you.

What does reconditioned equipment mean at Foeth?

At Foeth, when a machine is ‘reconditioned’ it means that, to start, it has been completely disassembled. Every individual part is inspected and all machine bearings and seals are checked and/or replaced. Any replaced parts are premium parts or equal. When every part has been thoroughly inspected, cleaned, repaired and/or replaced, the machine is reassembled. It is then fully repainted and stainless steel parts are shot peened, this ensures it does not just perform as new, it will also look the part! Afterwards, the reconditioned machines will get a complete mechanical inspection report before we ship them off to the customer. All reconditioned machines will also get a quality seal to indicate they went through this process. This quality seal can also be found in the web shop to identify which of our machines are reconditioned!

What is the difference between a reconditioned and refurbished machine?

At Foeth, we both recondition and refurbish machines. These may sound similar, and they are generally very comparable, but there are some key differences. When we refurbish machines, we check if they are mechanically sound and in working order, but they are not fully disassembled. We check the bearings and seals to see if they are still in good shape and if they are not, we repair or replace them. Just like when we recondition, we optically improve the machines as well, by giving them a fresh layer of paint and polish. Of course, we also write a complete mechanical inspection report prior to delivery. Both refurbishing and reconditioning have their advantages. While refurbishing is faster and allows for earlier shipping, reconditioned machines have the highest possible quality assurance, which is why we prefer to recondition!
