What are scraped surface heat exchangers?
Scraped surface heat exchangers consist of a double casing and a stirrer with scraper blades. The outer shell is heated or cooled by a liquid, the product to be heated or cooled is mixed in the tube. The scraper heat exchanger is suitable for viscous products, with the scraper blades on the agitator keeping the inner wall clean. The vertical scraping heat exchanger "terlotherm" uses a tangential inlet and mixing space for maintaining product quality. The product is heated or cooled via concentric heat transfer surfaces of two. Because the product is scraped continuously from the walls, there is no burning or freezing.
