What are roll dryers?
Roll dryers are a type of continuous contact dryer. These type of dryers are typically used for concentrated solutions, suspensions and pastes.
How do roll dryers work?
A roll dryer consist of heated rollers on which the moist material is applied evenly thin. During the slow rotation of the roller, the material dries and is then scraped off with a blade. The dried material is thereby removed either as a film, flakes or as a powder. Due to the low layer height, the drying process is very fast and even, so that the product can be effectively protected against overheating. Roller dryers can be designed as single-roller or two-roller dryer.
