Peeling centrifuges

Variety of models: order from a broad selection of peeler centrifuges

Separating solids from a solid-liquid mixture can be challenging if the particle sizes are small. Slurries that are difficult to decant or filter are easily separated using peeler centrifuges. Centrifuge machines are designed with the best technology and provide precision separation. You can use our peeler type centrifuges in plastic, pharmaceutical and chemical industries. Foeth is a renowned supplier of new and used equipment. Our expertise in exchanging used equipment is valuable to businesses looking for cost-effective ways to upgrade machines. Besides, the items are in excellent condition since they are mechanically tested to ensure they work as expected. Businesses can improve their competitive advantage by acquiring top-quality equipment for industrial processes at budget-friendly costs.

What does a horizontal peeler centrifuge do?

Centrifuges with horizontal filtration design use the same principle of centrifugal force to separate solids from liquids. The separation process also relies on density differences and a constant basket speed (unique to peeler separators) to improve the speed and achieve maximum removal of solids. The process is discontinuous in a horizontal centrifuge like the Krauss-Maffei centrifuges from Foeth and follows a sequence. You feed the suspension into the centrifuge basket through the feed pipe to commence separation. The baskets have fill-level controls that prevent overfilling. When intermediate centrifugation begins, it removes the liquid from the mixture, leaving a product cake. Before repeating the centrifugation process, the wash liquid is applied to clean the product cake. When the product cake is clean, it undergoes dry centrifugation to remove residual moisture content. The peeler centrifuge uses a scraper knife to scrape out the final product when the filter cake is ready for discharge.

Benefits of buying vertical peeler centrifuges

The difference between vertical and horizontal peeler centrifuges is the installation. The vertical centrifuge requires a larger room height since it stands, while the horizontal option needs a larger footprint. Horizontal centrifuges effectively separate demanding products like slow or fast filtrating slurries since the feeding process is controlled to prevent imbalance. However, vertical centrifuges face gravitational disintegration and need a rotating feed cone to prevent uneven cake build-up caused by large solids settling near the bottom. When using the vertical centrifuge, you also use medium or low basket speeds to obtain uneven cake, unlike the horizontal option that operates at full basket speed. Both peeler centrifuges have numerous industrial applications in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and food processing industries. For instance, you can use them to produce starch, salt, or resin. You will also enjoy excellent performance, high-quality solid production, and energy efficiency.
