Elmo Rietschle: Vacuum Pumps, Compressors, and Blowers

Elmo Rietschle was founded in 2006 when Gardner Denver acquired the companies Nash-Elmo (formerly Elmo Vacuum Technology) and Rietschle. Both companies have an individual success story in the development of vacuum technologies, low-pressure compressors, and blowers.

Elmo developed the first liquid ring vacuum pump in 1903, on which the first household vacuum cleaner was based. They also developed the first side channel blower. Rietschle developed the oil-lubricated rotary vane vacuum pump and its dry-running version. They also developed low-pressure compressor systems and claw vacuum pumps.

Through the merger, Elmo Rietschle Gardner Denver became the world's leading company for vacuum pumps, compressors, and blowers.

Applications of Elmo Rietschle Technologies in the Industry

Elmo Rietschle offers a total of eight technologies to meet the needs of the industry, trade, and manufacturing. These include:

  • Oil-lubricated rotary vane vacuum pumps, widely used in the food industry, drying systems, dust extraction, and industrial furnaces.

  • Dry-running claw vacuum pumps, used in dental suction systems, central suction systems in hospitals and health centers.

  • Dry-running screw vacuum pumps, suitable for vacuum metallurgy, sealing of food containers, and central vacuum packaging in commercial packaging.

  • Dry-running rotary vane vacuum pumps, ideal for the packaging industry, vacuum holding devices in the woodworking industry, and printing presses.

  • Liquid ring vacuum pumps, used in degassing in the ceramic industry and vacuum tankers.

  • Side channel blowers/vacuum pumps, used in the paper industry, industrial drying systems, and pond aeration.

  • Rotary lobe blowers, capable of handling corrosive gases.

  • Radial fans/vacuum pumps.

Foeth offers the following devices with Elmo Rietschle technology in their product range:

  • Oil-lubricated rotary vane vacuum pumps.

  • Side channel blowers/vacuum pumps.

  • Rotary lobe blower vacuum pumps.
